Please note that our service will be subject to some route diversions in Downtown Washington D.C. on Sunday March 23rd, 2025, due to road closures that will be in place for the Scope It Out 5K. Service amendments are expected to be in place between from 8:00am – 11:00am.

The following stops will be inaccessible:

  • Stop #2 (US Capitol) TEMPORARY CLOSED between 8:00am – 11:00am
  • Stop #3 (Air & Space Museum) TEMPORARY CLOSED between 8:00am – 11:00am
  • Stop #15 (Natural History Museum) TEMPORARY CLOSED between 8:00am – 11:00am

Normal service will resume on Monday, March 24th, 2025.

Day Tour - Red Loop - Official Tour of the National Mall:
First Bus: 09:30am from Stop #1: Union Station (50 Massachusetts Ave NE, Outside main entrance (In front of Shake Shack))
Last Full-Circuit Tour: 4:30pm from Stop #1: Union Station (50 Massachusetts Ave NE, Outside main entrance (In front of Shake Shack))
Last Bus: 4:30pm from Stop #1: Union Station (50 Massachusetts Ave NE, Outside main entrance (In front of Shake Shack))
Full Circuit Time: 1 hour, 50 minutes (approx.)
Bus Frequency: every 30 minutes.

Panoramic Sunset Tour:
Tour Departure Time: 6:30pm from Stop #1: Union Station (50 Massachusetts Ave NE, Outside main entrance (In front of Shake Shack))
Full Circuit Time: 110 mins (approx.)
Note: Please arrive in good time to secure your seat. The Sunset Tour operates on a loop, and is not a hop-on, hop-off tour. Tour times are subject to traffic, weather and other events, so please contact us or check with a member of staff for the most up-to-date Sunset Tour scheduling information.

Closure Dates

Big Bus Tours Washington DC operates daily except for:

  • Independence Day (July 4th)
  • Christmas Day (December 25th)

On rare occasions, we may need to temporarily suspend all service in the instance of very poor weather or for unplanned city events.
