    The first bus departs Stop #1 (Tourist Information Centre, corner of Smith & Bennet Streets) at 9:00am.
    The last bus departs Stop #1 at 3:00pm.

    In the morning, our full tour duration is 60 minutes. In the afternoon it is 90 minutes as the tour stops at the Darwin Military Museum on East Point.

    The main starting point is Stop #1: Tourist Information Centre. You'll find this at the corner of Smith St and Bennett St (southern side of The Mall). However, you can join the tour at any of our hop-on, hop-off stops. To find the stop closest to you please click here.

Tell me about Big Bus Tours Darwin

Big Bus Tours Darwin offers sightseeing bus tours of Darwin, the capital city of Australia's Northern Territory. Tours operate on open-top, double-decker buses and feature an entertaining and informative commentary which will tell you about the history and culture of Darwin and its surroundings. You can hop on and hop off the bus as often as you like from any of the 12 tour stops to visit attractions and places of interest.

What can I see and visit?

Big Bus Tours Darwin takes you to some of the city's best landmarks and attractions, including Mindil Beach Sunset Markets, Crocosaurus Cove, the Military Museum, the Botanic Gardens, Cullen Bay Marina and the Museum & Art Gallery of the Northern Territory.

How frequently do tour buses run?

In the morning, our tour frequency is 60 minutes. In the afternoon the tour frequency is 90 minutes as the tour stops at the Darwin Military Museum on East Point.

How much does the tour cost?

Is there a discount available for groups?

Is it possible to hire one of the open-top buses for a private event?

Buses can be hired privately depending on availability. Please feel welcome to contact us to discuss your requirements.

What is the child ticketing policy?

A child ticket is available for children aged between 5 and 15 years. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Children aged 4 years and under may travel free of charge. Children aged 15 years and under must be accompanied by an adult. Strollers and pushchairs must be folded and stowed on the lower deck.

If I buy a Multi-Day Ticket can I use it on separated days?

Yes, but you must specify the days you wish to travel when you redeem your tickets. Tickets must be used within a week of redemption.

What is your policy in the event of bad weather?

With the exception of extreme weather conditions that would jeopardise safety, our tours operate in all weather, rain or shine. Refunds due to weather will not be granted unless the service is suspended as a result of weather. If unexpected closures due to special events or extreme weather conditions arise, information will be published on our service information page.

I bought the ticket but it’s for someone else. It has my name on it, is this ok?

You're all set! Simply show your voucher(s) to any member of on-street staff who will scan the QR code and hand over your yellow Big Bus Tour tickets. Don't lose them, they're like gold (cash) and cannot be replaced.

Can I change the date (and time) of my bus tour?

Yes. If you have a ticket that's 'fully flexible' you can change the date (and time) of your bus tour booking without charge. To make the change, please contact us.

If you don't have a 'fully flexible' ticket, we can still change the date of your bus tour, but please be aware that charges may apply.

Are buses wheelchair accessible?

Yes, all our Darwin bus tours are wheelchair accessible, with ramped entry and exit from the bus. For very heavy wheelchairs or mobility scooters, please could you contact +61 0416 140 903 in advance of your tour so that we can eqiup with our extra sturdy ramps.
