Hop off your Chicago Bus Tour and you could get tickets to take a visitor’s tour around the stadium and see where the action happened. If you’re lucky enough, you might even be able to catch the Chicago Bears playing at their home ground. Recently renovated, the new stadium has been likened to a spaceship by some.

Soldier Field Stadium is one of Chicago’s most famous landmarks. During the ‘golden age’ of sport, this was a crucial venue for sports fans in the city, and people would flock here to watch the big game.

It’s been home to some landmark events too. Like the Jack Dempsey vs. Gene Tunney heavyweight boxing match in 1927, and a 1944 wartime visit from President Roosevelt.

- From the late 1930s to the 1960s the most popular sport here wasn’t football, it was car racing
- Originally named Municipal Grant Park Stadium, its name was changed in 1925 to honor the veterans of World War 1
- In its early days, the park was in a U shape and could seat over 100,000
- The Chicago Bears made this their home in 1971
