Sziget is one of the largest festivals in Europe, held every August in Hungary’s capital city, Budapest. EDM fans will love Vegas’ Electric Daisy Carnival which usually takes place in May every year. The colourful three-day party features some of the best staging, pyrotechnics and costumes you’ll ever see, so it’s as much about the visuals as it is the music. Both huge and up-and-coming electronic dance producers and DJs perform at the festival, with Tiesto, Armin van Buuren and Calvin Harris being regular performers. LOLLAPALOOZA - CHICAGO
Chicago’s four-day summer festival takes place in Grant Park near some of the city’s best attractions. So you can do your sightseeing and get your festival fix in one trip. It’s been going since 1991, and features a mix of music genres including alternative rock, punk rock, heavy metal, pop and hip hop. The diverse line-up of previous performers includes Kanye West, J’Lo, Nine Inch Nails and Bjork – so there’s something for every music lover. The festival is also famous for its food offerings. Head to ‘Chow Town’ and you can tuck into fresh restaurant fare and delicious eats from all over the city.
LOVEBOX – LONDON
The best thing about going to a festival in London is, you don’t need to camp. Leave the wellies and soggy tents behind and rave at city centre parties which are easily accessible by tube. Lovebox festival is one of the best in London. The event might only be a two-dayer, but it packs in a lot – DJ sets, big name bands, roller discos and loads of unique activities and entertainers. COACHELLA – CALIFORNIA
The USA’s most famous festival is held in the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio, California, which is around 2 hours from Los Angeles. It takes place in April every year, to mark the start of festival season, and lines up huge headlining acts like Beyonce, Lady Gaga, and Drake. It’s as much about the music as it is about the fashion here – with body glitter, floral headbands and fringe jackets a must. ULTRA FESTIVAL - MIAMI
Named after the 1997 Depeche Mode album, Ultra, Ultra Music Festival is an annual outdoor electronic music festival that takes place every March in Miami. The festival was founded in 1999 by Russell Faibisch and Alex Omes, and is held in Downtown Miami at Bayfront Park. Previous line-ups have included Diplo, Deadmau5, Major Lazer and Afrojack and there’s truly something for everyone at this three-day EDM concert.
