Do I need to choose a date for my tour?
Yes – when you book, you will need to select the date you’d like to hop on the bus. If you’re touring with us for more than one day, your ticket must be used across consecutive days, and the date you select at time of booking should be the first day of your tour. Some tours also require you to select a time of travel, to secure your seat. If your ticket has extra inclusions, you may also need to book dates and times for these inclusions after your purchase is complete via our Booking Portal. Big Bus Tours offers sightseeing tours of Athens on open-top, double-decker buses, operating across three routes that take you to iconic Athens landmarks and attractions. During your tour, you can tune in to our audio commentary to hear some fascinating facts and stories about Athens. You can hop on and hop off the bus at any stop to visit attractions and places of interest, or you're welcome to sit back and relax for the entire tour!
What can I see and visit in Athens?
Athens is full of beautiful landmarks, architecture, neighbourhoods and things to do, and our three tour routes feature stops at all the must-visit landmarks including the Acropolis and Parthenon, the Temple of Zeus, Kotzia Square City Hall, Karaiskaki Square, Omonia Square, the National Library, Municipal Theatre, Flisvos Marina, Piraeus and more!
Do tours operate daily?
Yes, our bus tours operate daily. In very rare circumstances our service might be curtailed or suspended due to city events or poor weather. Please visit our service information page for up-to-date information about current service.
How long does the tour take?
Approximate tour durations for each route are:
Athens (Red) Route: 1 hour, 50 minutes* (approx.)
Piraeus (Purple) Route: 1 hour, 20 minutes* (approx.)
Riviera (Green) Route: 2 hours* (approx.)
*Please allow for more time if you plan to hop on and off at any of our stops.

How do I redeem my ticket?
To redeem your ticket, please present your booking confirmation (printed or on a device) to a uniformed Big Bus Tours staff member at one of our stops. Staff will issue you a receipt that you'll be able to use to hop on the bus throughout the validity period of your ticket.
Is there a discount available for groups?

Are child tickets available?
Yes. Child tickets are available for children between the ages of 5–15. Children under 5 may travel free of charge. All children aged 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
Are buses wheelchair accessible?
Yes, most of our buses are wheelchair accessible. To allow us to make arrangements for the day of your tour, please contact us before booking by chatting with our friendly customer services team – just click the red chat button in the bottom right corner of your screen or submit a request via our Contact Us Form.
I bought a ticket for someone else, but it has my name on it, is this ok?
Yes. The person taking the tour will need to present the booking confirmation (printed or on a device) to a uniformed staff member before hopping on the bus. Staff will scan the QR code and present the guest with a ticket that can be used to board the tour. Tickets must be retained for hopping on the bus - please note that tickets cannot be replaced if lost.
Is food and drink permitted on the bus?
Drinks in closed containers are permitted. Food is not permitted.
Are pets permitted on the bus?
No, pets are not permitted on board the bus. Service animals (e.g. guide dogs) are permitted on board the bus to support guests with disabilities. Please note that the care for and supervision of a service animal is solely the responsibility of its owner, and we reserve the right to exclude any service animal whose behaviour disrupts the tour or poses a direct threat to the health or safety of others on board.
